Conspiracy has become a term to be used as an exit strategy. A term used to derail attention from the real issues.
First, what is the dictionary definition of conspiracy?
It as a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful; it is a plot under wraps…
Now, understanding the meaning, lets find out what are the latest conspiracy theories on the news:
- Conspiracy Claims in Venezuela “Listening to embattled President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela ramble for hours about an international right-wing conspiracy to oust him, it’s clear that he would use any fabricated pretext to jail opposition leaders and crack down on dissent.”
- “President of Ecuador alerts of 'a conspiracy' and questions violence of opposition during protests.”
- “Putin thinks the FIFA scandal is all a U.S. conspiracy”
- And many more, from all over the world...
Interesting.
Here is my thought:
An autocratic regimen is a government in which a supreme power is concentrated in the hands of one person. A system that manages to control all institutions of a democracy without having any popular restraints.
When there is no sharing of power, no rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse. Abuse that people will not accept and will eventually rebel against.
When autocratic regimes come under increasing pressure for political reform, instead of admitting to the genuine roots of the problem, they will find desperate arguments to explain the chaos to their compatriots.
And always, the fault will fall on the rich or the foreign-funded NGOs. Arguing that both groups are plotting to destabilize the “democratic governments,” and conniving to overturn the “genuine elected leader.”
So, what is an absolute-ruler definition of conspiracy?
When a Presidents-for-Life is afraid, afraid of losing power, he/she will always come out with a theory, the conspiracy theory!
