I Love Failure

It is essential, day by day,
to remain responsible
for our actions and decisions,
accepting our faults
without assigning blame

Accept, Cope then Adapt

Tonight I am sitting at one of my restaurants. It is Friday night, we have plenty of table reservations, we are fully staffed, just finished giving the staff a great pep talk and we are ready.
It is going to be a great night!
Or not?
Surprise, surprise, the forecast is calling for rain and snow to start at 6 pm. That is the start of our evening for business.  The storm was supposed to arrive Saturday morning. Too bad, now It is going to be hard for people to come out; business will be slow.
We are overstaffed, and now, we will have to send some of them home early and prepare for tomorrow night. Hopping that the storm will be gone by then.

So here is the lesson:
Despite our plans, sometimes events occur that are completely out of our control and can turn our world upside down in a split second. These uncontrollable surprises are called circumstances.
The dictionary defines "circumstance" as an event that causes something to happen, typically something undesirable.
Yes, it is something undesirable, but I see a circumstance as an event that could be used as an opportunity.
If we refuse to accept our lack of power and control, our lives become an endless series of disappointments and frustrations.
On the other hand, if we accept our lack of power, cope (deal effectively) then adapt (modify for a new purpose), our lives become a series of opportunities.
It is important to understand where we end up in our life has less to do with our circumstances than with where we decide to go in spite of our circumstances.

Remember: Our real challenges are inside our mind, which is the only thing we can control. Once we understand and take ownership over how we think and react, we will be better off!

Who I am today as a person is largely due to my failures!
Failures are the speed bumps in life that matter!  They are not regrets but small disappointments that wake up the strength within us! Failures are the process of learning and improving!  Without failures we simply are at a status quo!

"success is built on many failures..."
